On July 15<\/strong>, the ITTF released the Week 29 World Rankings<\/strong> for 2025. For the first time in a while, the women\u2019s singles top 10<\/strong> has welcomed new faces. Fresh off her victory at the WTT Grand Smash USA<\/strong>, Zhu Yuling<\/strong> surged past players like Miwa Harimoto to return to the top 10. Runner-up Chen Yi<\/strong> also broke into the elite group for the first time, while Wang Chuqin<\/strong>, who won the men\u2019s singles title in the U.S., is now within striking distance of current world No. 1 Lin Shidong<\/strong>. Meanwhile, Kuai Man<\/strong> hit a new career-high, while Lin Gaoyuan<\/strong> and Wang Yidi<\/strong> dropped in the rankings. Full details below.<\/p>

\ud83d\udca5 Grand Smash USA Shakes Up the Rankings<\/h3>

The WTT Grand Smash<\/strong> is one of the three highest-ranking events in table tennis, on par with the Olympics<\/strong> and World Championships<\/strong>, and more significant than the World Cup<\/strong> in terms of ranking points. Unsurprisingly, the latest edition in the U.S. had a major impact on the rankings\u2014especially with a number of upsets<\/strong> in the women\u2019s singles.<\/p>

Zhu Yuling<\/strong>, previously ranked No. 14, delivered a brilliant run in the tournament, defeating Wang Manyu<\/strong>, Shin Yubin<\/strong>, Mima Ito<\/strong>, and Chen Yi<\/strong> to win the women\u2019s singles title. She now climbs to world No. 6<\/strong>, a big step toward her former No. 1 status<\/strong>. Young star Chen Yi<\/strong><\/a>, who beat Sun Yingsha<\/strong>, Hina Hayata<\/strong>, and Kuai Man<\/strong> en route to the final, made a massive leap from No. 17 to No. 10<\/strong>\u2014her first time entering the top 10. Her peer, Kuai Man<\/strong>, also saw a major boost, now sitting at world No. 4<\/strong>, both athletes setting new career-best rankings<\/strong>.<\/p>
