Chinese Table Tennis Team Earns Nearly 1.08 Million RMB in Prize Money!Chen Xingtong Treats the Biggest Meal, How Much Did the Other 11 Players Get?

August 12, 2025 — The 2025 WTT Yokohama Champions has concluded, with the Chinese Table Tennis Team’s 12 players earning a total of $150,000 in prize money, about 1.078 million RMB. Women’s singles champion Chen Xingtong took home the largest share and happily announced after the match that she would treat everyone to dinner. As for the other 11 players, just showing up earned them prize money. Let’s break it down.

Women’s Team: $106,500 total (~765,000 RMB)

The women’s singles squad swept the competition — seven players competed, none lost to foreign opponents, six reached the quarterfinals, and four made it to the semifinals, all resulting in all-Chinese matches. Chen Xingtong was the biggest winner, being the only player from both the men’s and women’s teams to win a title. As per regulations, she received $40,000 (~288,000 RMB), more than a quarter of the total team prize money.

After the women’s singles final, Chen said in her on-site interview that she would treat the team to dinner, later confirming the promise online — earning many warm congratulations from fans.

Prize breakdown for the women’s team:

  • Chen Xingtong: $40,000 (~288,000 RMB)

  • Sun Yingsha: $20,000 (~144,000 RMB)

The men’s singles side underperformed — five players entered, three lost to foreign opponents, and only Wang Chuqin made it to the semifinals. He reached the final but fell to Japan’s Tomokazu Harimoto, missing out on the champion’s prize and ending up with the same amount as Sun Yingsha: $20,000 (~144,000 RMB).
