ITTF official announcement! ITTF World Rankings for Week 18 announced, basis for Doha World Series draw determined

On April 29, ITTF announced the world rankings for the 18th week of 2025. It is worth mentioning that this list is also the basis of the draw for the World Table tennis tournament in Doha on April 30, so we can now determine the seed list and order of each item, its Chinese table tennis men’s singles Lin Shidong and Wang Chuqin, women’s singles Sun Yingsha and Wang Manyu, mixed doubles Lin Shidong/Kuaiman and Wang Chuqin/Sun Yingsha do not have to participate in the draw to know their positions, more details please see below.

Week 18 world rankings are mainly affected by two aspects, one is the WTT Tunisia regular season tournament, and the other is the WTT Manchester feeder tournament, but there are not too many points for both events, where it is 400 points to win the regular season tournament, and 125 points to win the feeder tournament, and as many of the top players did not take part in the tournament, the world rankings naturally have not been affected.

So to be precise, the top seeds for the Doha World Series can already be determined after the World Cup in Macau ends on April 20, but for the athletes at the bottom of the rankings, the regular season and feeder tournaments are still slightly helpful, but do not affect the big picture.

Women’s Singles: Sun Yingsha, Wang Manyu, Chen Xingtong, Wang Yidi, Kuai Man, Zhang Moto Miwa (Tunisia Champion), Hayata Hina (Tunisia Runner-up), Shayuki Odo, Hayata Mima, Shin Yubin.

Almost all of the above athletes have been selected for the singles lineup of the associations going to the Doha World Series, with the exception of the new World Cup runner-up Kuai Man, who regrettably did not get to participate because of his loss in the Chinese team trials. Then remove Kuai Man, we can now determine the Doha World Series singles top eight seeds in advance, that is, the top eight men and eight women.

And according to the ITTF’s draw principle, the top two players do not need to draw lots, directly determine the town of the upper and lower half of the fixed position, this World Series Lin Shidong and Wang Chuqin, Sun Yingsha and Wang Manyu situation is so.

Similarly, according to the latest world ranking, the Chinese table tennis team mixed doubles two pairs of Lin Shidong / Kuai Man, Wang Chuqin / Sun Yingsha can also lock the World Series of the first two seeds of the seat; in addition, Wang Man Yu / Kuai Man also have enough points to become the second seed of the women’s doubles, so let us wait for the draw ceremony to kick off the curtain!
