On 11th February, ITTF officially announced the World Rankings for the 7th week of 2025. Influenced by the result of the WTT Singapore Grand Slam Tournament, the rankings have seen a big change, in which Men’s Singles champion Lin Shidong officially surpassed Wang Chuqin to become the latest World No. 1 player, and runner-up Liang Jingkun squeezed Harimoto Tomokazu to move up to the third place, with the Chinese team once again taking all the top three spots.
Women’s Singles champion Sun Yingsha not only remains at the top of the world rankings, but also leads the way with more than 10,000 points; Women’s Singles runner-up Kuai Man has broken into the top 10 for the first time and is now ranked seventh in the Women’s Singles, and fifth in the Chinese table tennis team; and the three Doubles World No. 1’s continue to belong to Wang Chuqin/Sun Yingsha, the Leblen brothers, and Satsuki Ohtomo/Sakizakura Yokoi…. -See below for more details.
The Grand Slam tournament is currently one of the most points-earning events in the ping-pong world, with 2,000 points awarded to the winning singles player and doubles team, and 1,400 points for the runner-up, far more than the average international tournament, and the sheer number of athletes in action makes it easy to change the ping-pong world rankings landscape.
As mentioned earlier, after this Singapore tournament, the two youngsters Lin Shidong and Kuai Man both made new breakthroughs in their individual rankings, with Lin Shidong becoming the youngest player ever to be ranked No.1 in the world in the history of the men’s singles at the age of 19, and Kuai Man, at the age of 21, moving up to No.7 in the world, and No.5 in the Chinese table tennis team, further solidifying her position as a mainstay of the team.

The latest top 10 athletes in the men’s singles world rankings are: Lin Shidong, Wang Chuqin, Liang Jingkun, Harimoto Tomokazu, Junior Lebron, Hugo, Moregard, Franziska, Qiu Dang, and Senior Lebron. Lin Gaoyuan dropped out of the top ten due to his absence at the Grand Slam and is now in 11th position, Qiu Dang moves up one place and Ole Brun moves up four places to join his brother in the top ten.
The women’s singles world ranking top ten players are: Sun Yingsha, Wang Manyu, Wang Yidi, Chen Xingtong, Hayata Hina, Zhangmoto Miwa, Kuai Man, Oto Shayuki, ito mima, Shin Yu Bin. Qian Tianyi, who was ranked 10th last period, slipped because of his Grand Slam loss to Ito Mima to stop in the round of sixteen, and is currently in the 11th position.
Mixed doubles, although Wang Chuqin / Sun Yingsha did not participate in the Grand Slam, but because of the previous points more, so this period continue to reign as the world’s first, and in Singapore won the title of Lin Shidong / Kuai Man once again moved up a place, has reached the world’s second position, and Wang Chuqin / Sun Yingsha only 292 points difference.
