I’ve been using the SANWEI Two Face – Soft Punch for the past 6 months, mainly in defensive and control-oriented setups. To be honest, this blade surprised me more than I expected.

Honestly, the first few times it happened, it felt strange.

This is where the blade becomes dangerous.

Especially with:

the blade feels incredibly natural.
From my own experience, this is probably one of the best blades I’ve used for pairing with long pimple or pimple-out rubbers.
The soft core and controlled rebound make it very difficult for opponents to break through consistently.

Despite the heavy defensive character, the blade is not completely passive.
The dyed limba surface adds a bit of directness and “first speed” when you attack.

It’s not a fast offensive blade by modern standards, but it has enough speed to make your attacks meaningful when the opportunity appears.
And honestly, that contrast is what makes it effective.

It’s probably not suited for:
- Pure two-wing loopers
- Players who want maximum speed and directness
Final Thoughts
The SANWEI Two Face – Soft Punch is one of those blades that serves a very specific purpose—and does it extremely well.
What stood out most to me was:
- The incredible energy absorption from the thick balsa core
- The ease of blocking heavy loops
- The synergy with pimple rubbers
Against aggressive opponents, it creates a very frustrating rhythm. Their power never fully comes through, and rallies slowly shift into your control.
And while it’s clearly built around defense, it still has enough offensive capability to punish weak balls when needed.
For players who enjoy tactical control, disruption, and defensive stability, this blade has a very unique character that’s difficult to replace once you get used to it.
