ITTF announces Week 24 ITTF World Rankings: Lin Gaoyuan slips, Lebrun and Hayata Hina fall back

On June 10, Beijing time, the ITTF announced the world rankings for the 24th week of 2025. Lin Gaoyuan, the mainstay of the Chinese table tennis team, who has been in poor form recently, dropped to 16th place in the men’s singles rankings. French star Alexandre Dulebron also fell out of the top ten and is currently ranked 11th, surpassed by Slovenia’s Darko and Chinese Taipei’s Lin Yun-ju. Japan’s mainstay Hayata Hina has fallen to 9th in the women’s singles, overtaken by her teammate Ohtani Satsuki. There have been few changes among the other top players. For more details, please see below.

This week’s world rankings were primarily influenced by four factors: the clearance of old points from the 2024 WTT Chongqing Championship, the WTT Zagreb Regular Season, and the WTT Sweden Youth Regular Challenge, as well as the injection of new points from the 2025 WTT Pristina Satellite Event. Among these, the WTT Chongqing Championship is the highest-tier event, so it had the greatest impact, though changes were not significant.

Taking the Chinese table tennis team as an example, the rankings of all the main players have remained almost unchanged, with only Lin Gaoyuan dropping from 15th to 16th in the men’s singles rankings. Lin Gaoyuan has recently suffered consecutive defeats in foreign competitions at the Macau World Cup and the World Table Tennis Championships in Doha, and has not earned many new points, so he urgently needs to achieve more good results to get back on track.

Another player who has fallen in the rankings is France’s Delebrun. who has been withdrawing from competitions since injuring his arm in March. He finally made a comeback at the World Table Tennis Championships in Doha, but ended up withdrawing from the men’s singles event, which caused him to drop two places to 11th in the men’s singles world rankings this week. Slovenia’s Dako and Chinese Taipei’s Lin Yun-ju advanced to 9th and 10th place respectively.

Japanese star Hayata Hina has also been affected by injuries recently and has missed many international competitions. Although she broke through the Chinese table tennis team’s defense again at the World Table Tennis Championships in Doha and defeated non-mainstay Shi Shunyao, she soon lost to Chinese table tennis team mainstay Chen Xingtong and failed to earn many points. She has now slipped to ninth in the women’s singles world rankings and is not far from falling out of the top ten.

The latest list of the top ten singles players in the world is as follows:

Men’s singles: Lin Shidong, Wang Chuqin, Hugo, Harimoto Tomokazu, Liang Jingkun, Moregard, Le Brun, Xiang Peng, Dako, Lin Yunru;
Women’s singles: Sun Yingsha, Wang Manyu, Chen Xingtong, Wang Yidi, Kuai Man, Zhang Ben Meiwa, Ito Mima, Ohtani Satsuki, Hayata Hina, and Shin Yu-bin.

As for the three doubles pairs ranked first in the world, there have been no changes. They are Lin Shidong/Kui Man (mixed doubles), Wang Manyu/Kui Man (women’s doubles), and the Lebrun brothers (men’s doubles). It is worth mentioning that the Chinese table tennis team currently ranks first in four of the five events. The only event in which they do not rank first is the men’s doubles, which was the only event they failed to win at the World Table Tennis Championships in Doha not long ago. We hope that everyone will continue to work hard in the future to achieve good results and strive to win all the events again.
