This week’s No. 1s in Men’s and Women’s Singles and Mixed Doubles are still being held by Wang Chuqin, Sun Yingsha, and Wang Chuqin/Sun Yingsha, while the Lebrun brothers and Satsuki Oto/Yokoi Sakizakura hold the No. 1s in Men’s Doubles and Women’s Doubles, respectively; see below for more details.
The most important tournament organised by the ITTF last week was the WTT Muscat Regular Season, whose Chinese table tennis team won the Men’s Singles and Women’s Singles titles, Japan collected the Men’s Doubles and Women’s Doubles titles, and Spain got the Mixed Doubles title, both collecting 400 points, while the runners-up got 280 points.
Men’s singles champion Chen Wanyu burst to the top for the first time after advancing into the world’s top 30, up 26 places, currently ranked 28th, while the runner-up Harimoto Tomokazu, who has recently been ranked No. 3, and No. 2 Lin Shidong have a large gap, and currently failed to overtake each other; women’s singles champion Shi Xunyao advances by 19 places, is currently ranked 18th, for the first time among the top 20, but is still slightly behind the second runner-up Kuai Man (up 3, the latest ranking of No. But she is still slightly behind runner-up Kuai Man (up 3 places and now ranked 15th).
