This edition of the world rankings is influenced by two main factors, one is the injection of new points from the 2024 WTT Frankfurt Championships, and the other is the disappearance of old points from the 2023 WTT Taiyuan Regular Season.
As mentioned before, although Lin Shidong and Wang Manyu won the title in Frankfurt, they still can’t ask for the world No.1 throne because Wang Chuqin and Sun Yingsha, who are ahead of them, have gained too many points in the past.
But relatively speaking at present Lin Shidong and Wang Chuqin only 1055 points difference, catching up less difficult, if the two continue the recent competitive state, plus the old points slowly disappear, men’s singles first is likely to change in the near future; as for Wang Man Yu is still short of Sun Yingsha 3335 points, the distance is relatively large, there will not be too much change in the short term.

Frankfurt men’s singles runner-up Carl Berg rose ten places, but because of the previous results are not too prominent, so it is still ranked seventeenth, as for the women’s singles runner-up Wang Yidi in the last week by Chen Meng after the counter-attack to revitalise, the latest rankings once again to reach the world’s third, only after Sun Yingsha, Wang Manyu, a long period of time to hang a high war card of Chen Meng urgently need to replenish more new points.
Despite failing to make it to the top in Frankfurt, Junior Lebrun’s recent performance has seen him rise again this term, edging out Liang Jingkun to move to World No.4 in the Men’s Singles, the best ranking of his career, and more prominent than Kina Hayata as the current front-runner amongst the men’s and women’s players in the Outerclassmen’s Association.

The other two new changes in the men’s singles world top 10 are Harimoto Tomokazu overtaking Ma Long to come in at world number seven, and Moregard overtaking Francesca to return to world number ten. However, for Ma Long, who has almost ‘retired’ recently and may stay away from the field completely, the ranking may not be important anymore.
On the women’s side, six-time international champion Satsuki Oto has risen again to No. 8 in the world, surpassing Mimoto Ito and becoming the No. 3 player in the Japanese women’s team, just behind Kina Hayata and Miwa Harimoto, with an unquantifiable potential for the future.

The latest singles world ranking top ten list is:

  • Men’s Singles: Wang Chuqin, Lin Shidong, Fan Zhendong, Junior Lebron, Liang Jingkun, Hugo, Harimoto Tomokazu, Ma Long, Lin Gaoyuan, and Moregard.
  • Women’s Singles: Sun Yingsha, Wang Manyu, Wang Yidi, Chen Meng, Hina Hayata, Miwa Zhangmoto, Chen Xingtong, Satsuki Oto, Zheng Yijing, Ito Mima.

As for the three doubles world No. 1s still belong to Chinese table tennis teams, Wang Chuqin/Sun Yingsha and Chen Meng/Wang Manyu are back-to-back tops, and Xiang Peng/Yuan Lizen moved up to No. 1 in the men’s doubles – next up is the WTT Dusseldorf feeder tournament on 18 November, the Fukuoka Grand Final starting on 20 November, and the WTT on 23 November. The Chinese table tennis team is expected to gain more points in these events.
