On 25 February, ITTF announced the world rankings for the 9th week of 2025. Although the Asian Cup, Euro Cup, Pan American Cup and WTT Turkey feeder tournament ended last week, the points from these four tournaments are not a lot, so the impact on the rankings of the top players is very small. At present, Lin Shidong and Sun Yingsha are still leading the singles standings, and Wang Chuqin and Wang Manyu (both of whom are the newly crowned Asian Cup winners) Wang Chuqin and Wang Manyu (both new Asian Cup winners) are in second place, see below for more details.
The Week 9 2025 World Rankings are mainly affected by two things, one is the injection of new points from the four international tournaments mentioned in the previous article, and the other is the disappearance of the old points from last year’s Euros and the Busan Team World Series, but none of the changes are very significant. For example, Wang Chuqin and Wang Manyu won gold medals at this year’s Asian Cup, but still don’t have the same number of points as men’s singles third-place finisher Lin Shidong, and women’s singles second-place finisher Sun Yingsha.
Previously there were rumours on the internet that Wang Chuchin would overtake Lin Sidong to rank first again, but it didn’t happen; and although there is only a 100-point difference between the two in this period, Wang Chuchin will also have 2000 points expiring in March from last year’s WTT Singapore Grand Slam, so it will be difficult for him to overtake Lin Sidong.

The new European Cup men’s singles champion Dale Brun’s ranking did not improve because of this gold, still in the world’s tenth position; the current women’s singles champion Han Ying previously because of injuries and illnesses many times absent from the international arena, the ranking fell sharply, now in the European Cup the king is back, winning the gold at the same time make their own rankings to the world’s fifty-seventh position, congratulations.
The women’s singles world ranking top ten athletes and its order did not change, still: Sun Yingsha, Wang Manyu, Wang Yidi, Chen Xingtong, Hayata Hina, Zhang Ben Meihe, Kuai Man, Oto Shayuki, ito mima, Shin Yubin.

Men’s singles latest world ranking of the top ten players is also the same as the previous period, but Brazilian Hugo rose one place, French star Le Brun Jr. slipped one place, the specific list is as follows: Lin Shidong, Wang Chuqin, Liang Jingkun, Harimoto Tomokazu, Hugo, Le Brun Jr, Mauregard, Franziska, Qiu Party, Le Brun Jr. Lin Yunru, who finished fourth in the Asia Cup, moved up one place and is now ranked 13th in the world.
The two Chinese table tennis team players who won the WTT Turkey feeder tournament, Xu Yingbin and Yang Yihyun, moved up to 62nd in Men’s Singles and 63rd in Women’s Singles respectively: they were originally ranked lower, and did not have many points from the feeder tournaments, so they are still a long way away from the top 50 in the world.

Since the Continental Cup only features singles events, it will not have any impact on the doubles world rankings. The No.1 mixed doubles team of Chinese table tennis team is still Wang Chuqin/Sun Yingsha, the No.1 men’s doubles team is France’s Le Brun brothers, and the No.1 women’s doubles team is Japan’s Sazuki Oto/Yokoi Sakizakura. Chinese table tennis team Xue Fei/Han Feier, Yang Yi Yun/Zhu Sibing and Sun Wen/Xu Haidong, who won the WTT Turkey feeder tournament, deserve recognition for reaching the twenty-eighth place in Mixed Doubles, sixteenth place in Women’s Doubles and thirty-second place in Men’s Doubles respectively.
