Please see below for more details.

What to watch

Harimoto Tomokazu and Felix are one of the most competitive young stars in the Chinese table tennis team. The former, born in 2003, has already defeated a number of Chinese table tennis world champion mainstays, and took the runner-up spot in the World Cup men’s singles, while the latter is the most advanced foreign association men’s table tennis player in the world ranking, and has already reached the fifth position.

It is worth mentioning that in the past interviews, Felix has expressed his admiration for Harimoto Tomokazu, quite literally considering the other as his idol, and now that the two have run into each other at the Smash, it is indeed very interesting to watch.

The Match

In the first set, Felix quickly utilized his straight-armed approach shots to attack Harimoto Tomokazu, making it difficult for him to fight back – Felix had said that what he admired most about Harimoto Tomokazu was the speed of his opponent’s approach shots, and now he was able to return the favor, and he was able to win the first set with an 11-6 victory.

In the second set, Harimoto Tomokazu forced Felix to make mistakes by increasing his spin, but the lead was reversed soon after the start of the set. Felix was able to make quick work of his opponent, and soon won 11-6, thus forcing Harimoto Tomokazu into a corner.

In the third set, Harimoto Tomokazu’s early lead was reversed, and it was clear that he could not match Felix’s points, so he had no choice but to call a timeout to make adjustments. After returning to the court, Harimoto Tomokazu continued to retreat, this time only 5 points to lose all, and thus the score 0-3 defeat was shut out, not to advance to the men’s singles quarterfinals.

At present, it seems that Felix has indeed figured out a lot of the essence of the straight shot playing style, recently defeated a succession of famous generals, soon after the Paris Olympics at home, he may become one of the Chinese table tennis team’s strongest rivals, it is worth serious study to be on guard.
