Week 26 ITTF World Rankings: Xiang Peng Drops, Zhu Yuling Closing in on Top 10

On June 24, 2025, the ITTF released its Week 26 World Rankings. There was little change within the top 10 of both the men’s and women’s singles lists—Darko Jorgić moved up one spot, while China’s rising star Xiang Peng dropped one place. Meanwhile, Hugo Calderano, fresh off his men’s singles victory at the WTT Star Contender Ljubljana, remained World No. 3. In the women’s singles, champion Miyu Nagasaki hit a career-best ranking of No. 20, and former World No.1 Zhu Yuling climbed to No. 13, inching closer to a return to the elite tier.

Ranking Changes Driven by Tournament Adjustments

This week’s changes were primarily influenced by three ranking events:

  1. New points from the 2025 WTT Star Contender Ljubljana,

  2. Point expiration from the 2024 WTT Lagos Contender, and

  3. Point expiration from the 2024 WTT Lima Youth Star Contender.

Of the three, the Ljubljana event had the most weight and consequently, the biggest impact.

Despite Team China sending 21 players to Ljubljana, they failed to reach any of the five finals, limiting the overall point gains. As a result, Xiang Peng, who was ranked No. 9, dropped to No. 10. The only Chinese player to make a singles semifinal—Chen Yi—rose two spots to No. 18.

In doubles:

  • The Lebrun brothers from France remain the top-ranked men’s pair, despite not winning in Ljubljana.
