I’ve been using the SANWEI Verdi for the past 6 months, mainly with an aggressive fast-attack style focused on quick pressure and direct offense. After long-term use, I think the Verdi has a very clear personality:
this is a blade built for speed, power, and sharp attacking play.
While many modern blades focus heavily on looping flexibility and softer dwell time, the Verdi feels more direct and explosive. It rewards players who like to take initiative early and pressure opponents with aggressive shots.
The First Thing You Notice: The Power
The most impressive thing about the Verdi is how much power it generates.
The combination of:
- VerdiX Fiber (Polyarylate Carbon Fiber)
- Kiri core
- outer limba structure
creates a very fast and energetic response.
Especially during:
- flat hits
- counters
- quick forehand attacks
- close-to-table pressure play
the blade feels extremely lively.
Compared to many softer inner-style blades, the Verdi delivers a much more direct impact sensation. The ball shoots out quickly with strong penetration.
Verdi
- Verdix Fiber(The same fibers as Aura Hybrid Carbon and Freeze HRD)
– Power & Control: The Verdi utilizes a unique blend of VerdiX Fiber(made of Polyarylate Carbon), delivering a perfect balance of strength and precision. This hybrid composition enhances your shots with powerful drives while maintaining exceptional control. - Superior Core Construction
– Kiri Core: At the heart of the Verdi is a robust paulownia wood core, known for its lightweight and durable properties. This ensures quick response times and an agile feel.
– Ayous Reinforcement: The blade is reinforced with ayous wood, adding stability and consistency to every strike, helping you maintain precision during intense rallies.
– Limba Outer Ply: The outer layer features high-quality limba wood, providing a smooth and responsive surface for superior spin and touch. Limba is favored for its ability to enhance ball control and provide a crisp, satisfying feel on impact.
More Suitable for Fast Attack Than Heavy Looping
After 6 months, I personally feel the Verdi is more naturally suited for fast attack rather than slow, high-arc looping.
Of course, looping is still very good because the limba outer ply provides:
- solid spin generation
- comfortable touch
- enough dwell time for topspin play
But the true strength of the blade appears when playing aggressively and directly.
The lower, faster trajectory works extremely well for:
- quick counters
- punchy topspins
- speed drives
- fast rally exchanges
The blade encourages active offensive pressure instead of slower spin accumulation.
VerdiX Fiber Feels Crisp but Controlled
One thing I like about the Verdi is that the fiber feeling is powerful without becoming overly harsh.
The VerdiX Fiber, which is also used in blades like:
- Aura Hybrid Carbon
- Freeze HRD
creates a balance between:
- speed
- stability
- touch
You still get strong carbon-like acceleration, but there’s enough softness from the Polyarylate structure to maintain confidence during rallies.
The feedback feels very crisp and clean without excessive vibration.
Excellent Stability During Fast Exchanges
In quick rallies, the blade feels extremely stable.
The:
- Ayous reinforcement
- Kiri core structure
- VerdiX fiber
all contribute to a very consistent rebound.
Even during high-speed exchanges, the blade stays reliable and predictable. That stability helps a lot when countering aggressive opponents close to the table.
Limba Outer Ply Adds Important Touch
If the blade were purely hard and direct, it could easily become difficult to control. But the limba outer ply helps soften the overall feeling just enough.
The limba surface provides:
- smoother ball contact
- better spin feeling
- improved short game touch
This prevents the Verdi from feeling too “mechanical” despite its offensive speed.
Lightweight but Powerful
The Kiri core also deserves mention.
The blade feels:
- relatively light
- fast through the air
- easy to accelerate
That lighter feeling actually helps during repeated offensive attacks because the racket never feels sluggish during fast transitions.
Who It’s Best For
After 6 months, I’d especially recommend the Verdi to:
- Fast attack players
- Close-to-table offensive players
- Players who prefer direct impact feeling
- Offensive players who prioritize speed over maximum dwell time
Especially if you enjoy:
- sharp attacks
- aggressive counters
- fast pressure play
the Verdi becomes very enjoyable.
For players who prefer extremely spin-heavy, slow-arc looping styles, an inner carbon blade may feel more natural.
Final Thoughts
The SANWEI Verdi feels like a modern offensive blade focused on efficient attacking power.
What stood out most to me:
- extremely strong offensive power
- excellent speed for direct attack
- crisp and stable VerdiX fiber feeling
- fast but still controllable response
Most importantly, the blade has a very clear identity.
It doesn’t try to be everything at once. Instead, it focuses on delivering aggressive speed and pressure—and for fast attack players, it does that extremely well.
